BUNDANOON COLUMBARIUM

Tucked away in the grounds of the Bundanoon Uniting Church is a garden with a difference - "The Garden of Memories". In 1995 this garden was established in the church grounds as a 'gift to the community'.

Many travellers passing through the village have visited this quaint garden and made favourable comments.

Set amidst old tombstones dating back to late 1800's is an attractive garden of birch trees, camelias, magnolias, perenials and annuals, box hedges, carpet roses, iris, dogwood, smoke bush and maple with tall majestic age-old pines as a back drop.

The gazebo invites you to contemplate and the attractive fountain and sandstone garden seats add a touch of the old world.

In this lovely Garden of Memories are the two columbarium walls with niches where ashes of loved ones can be placed and foundations to build another wall in future years.

A 'columbarium' is a building with tiers of niches for reception of cinery urns (ashes).

These niches are available to anyone in the district - any denomination and certainly not only Bundanoon residents.

The niches in the walls can be purchased at a cost of $385 (inc. GST).

Separate arrangements need to be made for an appropriate plaque and the placement of ashes. Mr. Bill Pope of Bowral is one that can be recommended for this purpose.

For details of dedication services at the time of placement please see our Funerals page.

You are welcome to visit this unique garden when in Bundanoon sometime - a calm, restful and attractive resting place.
